SPRINGFIELD, VA — A small, woman-owned, minority-owned, and service-disabled veteran-owned cybersecurity and information technology consulting firm will expand in Springfield.
SecureTech360 LLC, a company based at 6564 Loisdale Road in Springfield, will invest $155,000 and create 10 new jobs with the expansion. It plans to boost its presence in the healthcare IT and cybersecurity field. Its new services will offer clients patient-centric IP enabled healthcare, pharmaceutical, and ancillary services with green technologies and cybersecurity.
The company is also focused on helping people from marginalized communities access opportunities in the healthcare IT and cybersecurity industry, according to Principal CEO Quiana Gainey.
“Motivated by a desire to increase diverse representation in the healthcare IT and cybersecurity space, SecureTech360 is excited about the opportunity to create jobs in Virginia for underserved populations,” Gainey said. “Our hope is to educate and empower disenfranchised individuals who have systematically been left out of the industry while transforming the local economies in which SecureTech360 resides.”
SecureTech360 dates back to 2010 and has doubled in size since them. Most of the firm’s clients are in the first responder community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the firm made “health tech pods” that could be used to expand hospitals or be used in rural areas with limited healthcare access.
In 2020, SecureTech360 won the Virginia Governor’s Volunteerism and Community Service Award due to over 300 volunteer hours and fundraising by staff. It was also the 2019 recipient of the Women’s Veteran’s Business Enterprise of the Year from the National Veteran-Owned Business Association.
SecureTech360 has donated over $25,000 in scholarships to support local nonprofit organizations such as G.I.R.L, Project SheEO, UPO Inspire, Women Behind the Business and the United Negro College Fund. It also started PRETTI with a Purpose, a scholarship program for 11th and 12th-grade girls and college students seeking a degree in science, technology, engineering, health and math. In 2018, SecureTech360 started MySecureKid, a nonprofit focused on online safety awareness for parents, teachers and children.
The expansion will be supported through the state-funded Virginia Jobs Investment Program, which provides consulting and funding to companies creating jobs. The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) partnered with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership to secure the expansion project.
“We are always gratified to help woman-, minority- and veteran-owned businesses grow their presence in Fairfax County and Northern Virginia, and working with SecureTech360 is particularly gratifying because it is working to create opportunities in IT sectors for diverse populations,” said Victor Hoskins, president and CEO of the FCEDA.
